Carinus, as Caesar, 282-283. Denarius (Bronze, 18 mm, 3.12 g, 6 h), Rome, 282. M AVR CARINVS N CAES Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Carinus to right. Rev. PROV[ID]E AVGG Providentia standing front, head to left, holding wand over globe in her right hand and long scepter in her left. Cohen 110. RIC 168 ('Quinarius'). Extremely rare. An exceptionally well preserved denarius, with a splendid green patina. Minor weakness on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
